Shrinking!

Hey all, sorry it's been a little bit from my last post! I've been super busy. Dealing with problems with my school, my best friend moved back who was in Savannah for a year, and I was commissioned to do some graphic design for my fiance's work!

I have good news though!!!! I'm down a pant size! I was in desperate need of jeans, and couldn't really afford to do anything for a while. But I finally had enough money to go pants-shopping yesterday. Goodwill is my go to place, always. Their jeans range between $3.99-$9.99 on average, so it is guiltless shopping. However, I am a shortie at under 5 feet tall, so it can make things a little difficult. Yesterday was apparently my lucky day though! I found two pairs of jeans---A pair of Gap lightwash (which I usually don't wear) flare jeans which look amazing, and a pair of mid-tone was skinny jeans from Ann Taylor LOFT (who I will always recommend for jeans, their jeans fit my curves and don't slide down my bottom if you know what I mean!) and when I tried them on, it was magic. I'm at a size 10 now, and neither of the jeans are tight on me, make my bootie look awesome, and have a high enough rise for me! It's amazing how a new pair of jeans that properly fit make a lady feel!

I've also been hitting my goals on water lately, which makes me feel wonderful. I barely have soda now, and while I will indulge in the occasional iced coffee or juice, I keep it to a minimum and to proper serving size. But water makes me happy!

When I was living at home, my mom and I made "Skinny Water" which tastes amazing and is great for detoxing (not to be had as a substitute, mind you!). You take icewater in a pitcher, throw in some cucumber slices, a little bit of ginger (which aids with digestion amongst other things), and lemon slices. It tastes lovely, and it relieves you of bloating. Unfortunately, my fridge won't accomodate a pitcher, but there are always ways to spruce up your water if you're bored!

-Throw in different citrus (orange, lime, lemon, etc)
-Use berries like strawberries, blackberries, or raspberries for a different taste
-Add some mint leaves which adds a subtle taste, but also aids with digestion!
-Ice tea is always delicious <3 It's my go-to going out for meals drink
-Freeze ice cubes with herbs or fruits frozen into them to keep your drink cold and tasty!
-You can always go for powdered drink mixes, but I don't prefer them, myself for the weird aftertaste
-You can do all of these with club soda or tonic water (yum!) for a soda alternative as well!

I hope you all have had a wonderful week, and I'll post some progress pics soon! Once I take care of my school stuff, I can formulate a work out schedule for our free gym (which is super nice!), which will definitely help in my slow weight loss!

Healthy Can Be Budget Friendly!

One of the biggest excuses we all hear is that eating healthy is "too expensive". It really isn't! Of course, when eating many processed "healthy" foods like Lean Cuisines (which are not fundamentally bad, but can be loaded with sodium! Always check your labels) are not cheap. Now, the cost of food is definitely rising, which is upsetting. But by shopping smart, you can eat healthy on a budget.

Now, I will admit to you all that I am on food stamps (thankfully this is my last month---and only my 2nd month on them) due to an emergency situation. Having $200 to go food shopping with is more of a challenge than I thought it would be. Last month I seemed to run out early, which seemed insane to me. But it also gave me more of an appreciation for learning how to spend on food for when I am done with them.

Here are some basic tips for healthy eating on a budget!

  • DO buy seasonal produce---it will always be cheaper and taste better than non-season!
  • DO meal plan ahead of time and try to utilize similar ingredients---If you get a pound of beef, use it for burgers one night, and chili or pasta another. This will cut costs by having to buy less "extra" stuff per meal
  • DO shop the end caps! End caps at the grocery store tend to have cheaper/sale items on display
  • DO check the different local grocery flyers---you'd be surprised by the differences in prices on similar products
  • DO stick to a list. You won't stray as easily and if you're a flyer shopper like I am, you'll keep costs lower by estimating the total cost with the info you have
  • DO incorporate more vegetarian meals. I love meat, but it can surely be expensive! Also check out the meat counter sale prices for some good deals on fresher meat!
  • DO avoid aisles you don't need to go into (like the ice cream aisle) to avoid craving-splurges
  • DO buy cases of beverages (water!!!!) instead of individual bottles at the front---it will be cheaper in the long run.
  • DO shop at several places---Walmart's prices on food are amazing, and they're produce is actually really good! ALDI, for getting a bad rep, is amazing for certain items, Trader Joe's is cheap, organic, and delicious, and they always have free samples <3
  • DO avoid going in the bakery side of the grocery store if you can. A study showed that people who went in on the other side of the wound up spending less money! Plus the bakery is put up front so that you are enticed by the smells.
I hope these tips help you out! I absolutely swear by "flyer shopping" so that I can estimate totals before going into the store. It's way easier to stick a budget when you know what the majority of it will cost!

Also, I'm in a tiny studio where there is only a half-sized fridge and a barely functioning "freezer" section. So I'm generally buying for a few days to a week at a time TOPS. It's terrible, but it's how I have to do it. I'm much more the type that (when I have a regular sized freezer) makes things ahead and freezes portions for later.

Here are some of my recent favorite treats from my latest Trader Joe's adventure (For my PMS week!):

170 calories for 1/4 cup! Usually only eat 2 or 3 at a time though. They're amazing!

These are amazing. A serving is 2.5 cups for only 140 calories! They're a great alternative to chips, and delicious!

These guys are great for a snack or as dessert. They're the perfect treat as they're salty, crunchy, and decadent. You get 7 of these babies for 190 calories, but I usually only eat a few!

There you go! I also am in love with TJ's Cranberry Hibiscus juice, as well as their Harvest Peach! Go now!!!

Realistic Expectations

So, today I scrounged up some old photos of me (in high school) where I weighed 110.

You can see the outline of my ribs through the shirt : (

It makes me sad to think that due to my eating disorder at the time, I never realized how thin I actually was! Now, my goal is still 110lbs, however I know I won't look like that! I will look healthy and fit, not gaunt and tired.

However, I know realistically that I may not hit 110 pounds again. I accept that, but I also know that if I work hard enough I can do it. Healthy weight for me is between 95-123 at my height. Crazy, right? And 110 fits snuggling in between.

The good news is that I start school back up in a week, and we have free access to our gym. Hopefully my schedule will allow me to work out, but it's an all women's college so I'll feel more at ease. I'm actually really excited to start school back up because I love having a rigid schedule. It will also provide me the challenge of trying to eat healthy when time/refrigeration is limited.  The past years I have had a hard time keeping food with me other than breakfast and a snack maybe, because I'd be there all day (8am-10pm, what!?!). I'd end up at the cafeteria or even worse, the "grill" where they'd serve up unhealthy (yet delicious) choices. On an average day, I'd be potentially eating two meals (and maybe a snack) at school. This usually consisted of chicken tenders which are deep fried, and fries. And the scary thing is that the healthier options are very limited at the "grill". We have little snack kiosks set up throughout school, and I commend them for their healthy options such as yogurt with fruit, fruit salad, veggies and dip, hummus and pretzels, etc, but they also sold donuts, nachos, etc.

So this year is my personal challenge to eat fit while in school, and utilize the exercise room as much as possible. I will start food journaling more on my blog at that point, because it'll be interesting to me how my eating habits have changed. I'm craving less junk lately, but I will always have a soft spot for fries! And I have realistic expectations. I know I'll end up with the fattening food more than once this school year, if I let myself. I'm going to try not to! If I want those fries, I'll find a friend to split them with and have my own pre-made lunch. Instead of regular chips, I'll bring my beanito chips and some salsa, pretzel thins and hummus, or a 200 cal pack of salted mixed nuts.

What are your strategies for keeping food with you throughout the day so that you don't stray from your healthy eating ways?

Also, here is a picture of my Mommy, my fiance, and myself in FL---she's my biggest supporter!

Have a lovely rest-of-your-weekend!

Turkey Meatball Recipe!

So, I vanished again for a day. I went back home today to have lunch with my dad and sister. We went to a place called The Tilted Kilt. It made the feminist in me cringe.  It's basically the "Scottish" version of Hooters. Women with mid sections exposed, cleavage pushed up, and skirts very short. The food was really good though!

My sister is on the Paleo diet, and I am keeping track of calories (while trying to be aware of how my calories are being utilized! No Big Macs for me anymore!). She ordered their GRILLED chicken wings which were amazingly tasty, and I ordered their Italian Herb Chicken which was served with grilled veggies. Now, per most restaurants, they give you more than 1 (3 oz.) serving. So I eyeballed the portion I should have, and ate all the veggies, which were thankfully steamed with just salt added.

It's easy to go for the burger and fries, but it made me feel really good to know I picked a nutritious lunch while eating out!

Mind you, I don't get to eat out often, but I don't use it as an excuse to eat what I want, like I used to do when my parents would take me out.

Anyway, after texting with my mommy (not ashamed to call her that still; I love you Mom!), she reminded me I hadn't posted my delicious turkey meat ball recipe yet! So here it is:

This made about 14 meatballs. I eyeballed them so they ended up being about an inch tall/wide.

1 lb ground turkey
1/4 cup egg beaters (You can substitute 2 egg whites or 1 egg if you prefer)
1/4 panko bread crumbs (for binding, you can also probably use Italian bread crumbs)
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp seasoning (I used Penzey's Mural of Flavor spice, but Italian would be good too!)
1 pinch of black pepper

Now, my oven is broken so I pan fried mine in some oil. My nutrition data will not count this, as baking is preferable! I was also in a hurry to get these guys done, so I nuked them (shame!) for 1 minute until they were cooked. I allowed them to simmer with the sauce until my pasta was done cooking. However, if I hadn't microwaved them, I would've let them finish cooking in the sauce for about 20 minutes after pan-frying.

Calories/nutrition are per 1 meatball. So have a few! I sure did. Since it's just my guy and myself, we had leftovers even after he helped himself to a second serving. I think they'd be good in a pita with more sauce, and a sprinkle of Italian blend cheese on top. Yummy!

It's Okay to Say "No"

Hello! Sorry for a lack of update yesterday. I was super busy!

Anyway, a lot of us are striving for amazing goals we've set in place. We're determined! And most of us have an incredible support system. I know I do!

However, sometimes it can be hard. I know growing up my ex-stepfather would always bring unhealthy, tempting foods home to my mom while she was trying to lose weight. While in his case, it was more intentional, my situation is not.

My fiance, out of the goodness of his heart, tries to do little things for me (pick me up something sweet, etc). He is extremely supportive of me while I'm doing this. But he makes mistakes. He brought me home a soda one night, to which I could have accepted, but I politely declined. He feels really terrible when he does things like this---a couple days ago he brought home cosmic brownies because they were on sale. He's a little forgetful : ) But I just have him put them on a high shelf so I can't reach them (it's good to be so short!). Despite his two little mistakes, I'm able to say no now without him feeling bad. I know many of us have been through situations like this.

It is perfectly okay to say no!

It's only food---as long as they know you appreciate what they did, it's okay. It may hurt their feelings, but is it worth it to eat/drink something you shouldn't just because they got it for you? Nope! Only if you want to.

It's also hard when we go to his mom's place. They don't eat very healthy there. Yesterday we made pizza (I allowed myself one slice), and she made left over KFC. I had a few fries, but none of the chicken. I had intentionally gotten a huge salad from the store to fill up on before hand so I would resist temptation. And it worked. A lot of people avoid social situations so that they aren't tempted by food. You don't have to do that! Don't isolate yourself!

Here are some tips for those situations:

  • Eat before going! You will be full and not want to eat, but still be able to engage socially
  • Make healthy choices---avoid the taco dip and go for the veggies!
  • Desserts? Have a tiny slice of cake, or a small sampling of goodies that won't break the calorie budget
  • Dance! Earlier in a post I discussed allowing myself to drink ONLY if I danced for a half hour.
  • Plan ahead---If you "budget" for goodies, then you have no problem! Just be mindful of amounts
  • If you have an app (I have the Spark People App), you can plug in the info of what you're interested in eating to see if it's worth it
  • Live a little! It's not cheating to indulge a little, just don't go overboard and you won't feel guilty about it.

There is no reason why you can't have things you enjoy. Just moderate yourself, and don't obsess over it. Feeling guilty about food isn't a good thing. Having a healthy (and realistic) view of your expectations and weight loss is important, so that if you have that sweet treat, you won't get down on yourself. I didn't yesterday because I was careful not to have too much of the bad stuff, while still feeling as though I was indulging.

Now, getting off topic, I made home made meatballs for the first time ever the other night! I made them from ground turkey, egg beaters, and a little bit of panko for binding. And seasonings of course! They turned out AMAZING if I say so myself! I used Francesco Rinaldi's ToBeHealthy Tomato and Basil sauce (with added omega-3), and it was so flavorful and delicious. We had it over whole wheat pasta, and it was a very satisfying meal. I'm proud of my work!

I've also gotten us in the habit of eating on smaller plates so that we feel more filled up, and visually it appears as though there's more food. It works!

I'll put up the recipe for meatballs on my recipe page shortly. Bye all!

Rewarding Yourself for a Job Well Done!

Today is all about rewarding yourself for your amazing work! We all have our ups and downs while losing weight and trying to get to an ideal/healthy size, but staying positive can be hard. That's why you have to reward yourself! Rewarding yourself will keep you motivated and excited about what changes you're making to your body.

For instance, my mother and sister are also trying to change their eating habits. My mother was disappointed that she hadn't lost any pounds for the week, but she said she could see that she lost in terms of inches. You can still reward yourself for that! It's still an amazing achievement in my book.

My weight has been fluctuating up and down, and now that I can afford food again I can go back to eating way healthier (Note: This doesn't mean I was eating like a cow, it just means that the options available weren't healthy in nature---portion control is something I'm thankfully good at---unless it's ice cream!) Ultimately I'm proud to say that as of today, I'm down to 160 lbs!

Now, money is tight for many of us out there. Rewarding yourself can be a challenge in itself. But there are ways to do it! Just do not reward yourself with food. Many dieters out there have a "cheat day" or "cheat weekend"! All they are doing is sabotaging their ability to lose. If they weren't on an actual diet, and instead eating healthy to change their lifestyle, they would realize that they can indulge here and there without making it a reward. The mentality of the food reward leads to a negative way of thinking when it comes to "diet food". There's no need for that!

Here's my first reward: I turned my side swept bangs into a blunt bang style (DIYed) for free! And it made me feel incredible. Instantly I felt more attractive, more sophisticated, and more like ME!

Anyway, here are some low-budget and cute rewards you can do for yourself!

  • Give yourself a make-over. Use some Youtube tutorials and try out different make up styles with products you already have, or can obtain inexpensively.
  • Paint your nails! Get a mini-manicure set if you don't have one and paint those puppies!
  • Give yourself a reward that is inexpensive that furthers your motivation (I will be getting a new sports bra soon, as my 10 lb reward).
  • If you're like me, and can't afford clothes often, go to Goodwill and pick out one outfit. It'll be under $10 and you can donate it back once you're too skinny for it!
  • Give yourself a mini spa day at home. Make your own face mask, or purchase one (most are about $2), soak your feet, lounge around, and maybe meet some friends later to show off how relaxed you are!
  • Reward yourself with one of your favorite books---make time to do it!
  • New music to work out to!
  • A new accessory like jewelery, scarves, etc.
  • A new work out DVD or something else fitness related.
  • And more!
There are so many ways to reward yourself for good work. You can do it. And by doing something special for you in return, it'll make you feel great!  Obviously this is a list of less expensive ideas, but the more money you have, the more room you have to reward yourself with.

A few ways to do the reward system is keep a jar filled with slips of paper with different rewards on them, or assign an award on a calendar once a week. My mom and I do the 5lb reward, 10 lb reward, etc. to keep us going strong!

What are your rewards?

Eating for Your Dietary Needs

So, a little embarrassing to admit, but hey, why not? We all have something we can't eat. Mine is dairy! I am lactose intolerant (which my family is too---we coined the phrase "lactarded"), and it is hard to eat certain things I love. Like sour cream.

I was never lactose intolerant as a child. It started around the time I was 13, but I had never really cared for milk...ever! Other than chocolate, of course! : ) I love ice cream, sour cream, yogurt, and cheese. Now, cheese and yogurt rarely bother me. Cheese has very low levels of lactose, so it is easier for me to digest, but I still keep it to a minimum for gassy repercussions. Yogurt has rarely bothered me, probably because I choose yogurts with pro-biotics which helps a lot in digestive aid!

However, sour cream and ice cream are a (stomach) death wish for me. It's hard at times when I don't have Lactaid on me (the most magical pill ever!), and even then it sometimes fails. Which is the biggest let down ever.

Last night I was taken to Taco Bell, and I got a crunchy taco. I didn't realize it was a crunchy taco supreme until I opened it. I ate it, but almost immediately I had problems. It was unfortunate! And my fiance is also lactarded, so he was in the same boat. Not fun!

In general, I have to watch what I eat. In addition to being lactose intolerant, I also have IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), and Acid Reflux. Rich foods like mayo, ketchup, etc tend to give me hours of horrible heartburn. And my IBS can be triggered at any time, so when eating out, I tend to stay away from rich foods that may have any triggering ingredients such as diary or tomato.

My fiance also has Crohn's Disease, which my father also has, so I am used to those changes as well. It is a rare occurrence that I consume corn in this household! Very sad! But I grew up with my dad's limitations and it's okay. We accommodate for our issues, and it works very well.

So, here are some of our favorite products!

In Dark Chocolate <3
It's dark, decadent, and reminds me of eating a Mound's bar! The coconut shows through, just enough, and it is amazing. It has the same texture and creaminess of ice cream.

Lactaid Milk
Now, I normally get 2% but they make all kinds of it. I get the smaller container since I don't like milk very much to begin with! But it's great for cooking and cereal.

These are absolutely amazing! My fiance and I found them a few weeks ago at the grocery store, and they're made completely of black beans so he can eat them! They have a wonderful taste and crunch, and go amazing with salsa. They're also corn and gluten free, which is lovely for those who have concerned. We've only tried the black bean, but they also make 3 additional flavors.

So, there's my small list for now! I can give an update later with some of my all time favorite products, but I want to ask you all: What are your dietary restrictions and what foods to you eat to combat them? Any favorite products? Let me know!

An Issue of Undereating

Hi all, so I know I've posted today already, but I've been having trouble with undereating. It's not intentional! When you're tracking calories, it's easier to see the numerical impact of it. Today I've only eaten 888 calories. I had a protein filled breakfast, and wasn't terribly hungry for lunch so I just had a side caesar salad from Wendy's with *gasp* croutons!  I didn't have time for a pre-lunch snack either.

For dinner I had two, yes, two servings of Annie's Organic shells with white cheddar. Despite all of it, I still haven't reached my goal. I'm afraid that even with dessert (usually a pudding cup) I won't hit that goal. Spark People says my calorie range is between 1,200 and 1,550. I'm not even hitting the minimum. It's frustrating, because I feel full when I've been eating, and stay satisfied until the next meal. I know I should add snacks in at some point, but money's been tight and we can't go grocery shopping until Sunday.

Just for fun, here is my tentative shopping list for then!

Produce
-Green grapes
-Tomatoes
-Salad
-Cucumber
-Potatoes (for homemade chips and breakfast "bowls"!)
-Cabbage
-Bananas
-Pineapple

Meat
-Sliced turkey breast
-Chicken (shredded)
-Ground turkey
-Bacon (Forever in love with bacon!)

Dairy
-Dannon key lime greek yogurt
-Ricotta cheese

Grocery
-Rotini
-Pasta sauce (low sugar)
-Pudding
-Cool whip
-Healthy blend mixed nuts
-Cake mix (For Hungry Girl's Greek Yogurt Cake)
-Whole grain bread

This is what I can think of right now! I like to meal plan in advance in order to stick to a budget when shopping, and to keep my diet structured so that I don't stray. I'm going to try and incorporate more snacks to try and up my calorie amount!

Enjoy the weekend!

-Whitney

Staying on top of my game

So, last night presented a new problem. It was my first time drinking since changing my ways! Now, I'm 22, and can get a little over board at times, but I try to be careful. On my SparkPeople account, I accounted for 6 oz of vodka (3 short drinks) and diet soda. This is not what actually happened!

I wound up giving into temptation and ordering my favorite drink---rose infused vodka lemonade! Probably not as good for my diet as the original (tasteless) drink I had in mind, but I figured if I was going to enjoy myself, I should.

HOWEVER!

I promised myself before I even went out that if I was drinking, I would have to get on that dance floor for at least a half hour to work for it. It was a wonderful time, and I was able to get people on the dancefloor moving with me. I also did this in heels, which tones the legs and works on your core.

And let me be honest about something here. I get drunk munchies. Bad. My fiance and I stopped at McDonald's and I consumed a McChicken with light mayo. Not the healthiest choice, but over the past several days I have been under-eating (It's hard for me to hit 1,200 some days, and that's the lowest of my range!), and in my...slightly intoxicated mind I justified it. It happened! Oh well. I moved on.

This morning I got on the scale, and it read 161. Over the week I had gained a couple/few pounds, and somehow I was still able to drop it.

So, it is possible to have a bad night (food/beverage wise!), but still lose weight. It's important to forgive yourself and move on from those episodes in order to maintain your esteem and motivation.

Moving on, this morning I'm starting out my day with a delicious carmelized onion, crumbed ground chicken, and cheese egg white omelette. High in protein with little fat, and lots of deliciousness!

Om-nom-nom!

I hope your day is as delicious as mine, and remember, forgive, forget, and move on (literally)!

It's the Little Things

So far today, I've eaten alright. I had McDonald's for breakfast. I had a nasty craving for a sausage McMuffin. Yes, not the healthiest, but I usually go for their oatmeal if I need something on the run anyway. A McMuffin isn't calorically bad---It's everything else.  In addition to that I got a small iced coffee with cream and sugar-free syrup. Tastes just the same! I was pleasantly surprised.

So, while it wasn't the healthiest breakfast, and I ended up peeing every 5 minutes from the coffee, it was still worth it to me to treat myself. As long as you try to make healthier decisions the rest of the day, I see nothing wrong with having something a small indulgence. Don't go crazy though! Moderation is the key, and I do not eat like this every morning. I usually enjoy breakfasts involving eggs, greek yogurt, or high fiber oatmeal. The more lean protein in the morning, the better!

Now, this kept me full for the majority of the day. But I just got hungry! So, with limited food in the house (I can't even call it that since it's a studio that's 10'x11'), I dug around the pantry.

Sometimes simplicity is the best.

Usually I like to be a little more creative, but I didn't feel like fussing, especially after doing dishes yesterday.

Looking at my Spark People Stats, I realized I need to work more protein in my diet. And tuna from a can is the only fish I'll eat! So it was magic. I used about 3/4 of the can of tuna for this sandwich, and Kraft Mayo with Olive Oil. It tastes so wonderful, and it's only 45 cal per tablespoon! And way better for you too. I highly recommend trying it. So overall, this whole meal came to about 200 calories, which compensates for my larger calorie breakfast. Still have a lot to eat for the rest of the day though!

Brand New Me!

So, here is a new me. There will soon be a new-new me, but that is a work in progress! This blog is titled specifically because I'm terribly lazy when it comes to exercise. Food I have down---I love it, and I love to eat healthy options (with the occasional sweet treat or greasy burger!).

Let me give you a brief history of myself. When I was 13, I was already at 153lbs. Which at 4'11" is quite a lot! I was fairly active though. I'd walk home from school (2 miles), or to my best friend's house (another 2 miles!) but my eating habits were atrocious. I continued with these habits until my first year of high school. I wanted desperately to eat better! So I cut out soda and lost 15 pounds. Gross, right? I was very encouraged and began my diet overhaul. I ate very healthy, but combined with depression and anxiety, things took a bad turn.

I remember hopping on the scale after 2 weeks of dieting. I had gone from 147 to 138 in two weeks. I took this as encouragement! That's a wonderful weight loss! However, my thoughts began to change into, well, if I'm eating 1,000 a day and losing this much, what would happen if I went down to 800 calories? I'll tell you what---the next three years actively battling with an eating disorder. Two years later I dropped down to 115. Now, at this height, that's still healthy. But I diagnosed myself with ED-NOS, Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified. This meant that I did not meet the physical criteria for Anorexia, but I did have the mentality and the self induced harm that went with it.

At 16 I started smoking and drinking. Like most high schoolers. My confidence wavered frequently, and I had a job at that point. So, I decided to buy diet pills. These had ephedra in them which completely messed with my heart rate and made me weak and irritable. And they honestly didn't work at all. I remember when I started popping adderall---it was amazing to me. I was 17, in my last semester of high school, and it boosted my levels all day. Without eating, of course. I remember after fasting for 3 days and fainting constantly, staring up at my ceiling on a day off, contemplating why I was even doing this to myself. There's always a dark side. Another time I had taken it two days in a row, and hadn't eaten. I had come home from work, and my parents were trying to get me to eat. I threw a fit, and ended up passing out in front of them.

Enter College:

Where all the bad things taste delicious and you're forced to eat crappy cafeteria food. So I blossomed from 110 up to 140. 3 years later and a year long relationship in to my fiance (who can eat ANYTHING and not gain!), I now am in the 160's. I refused to weigh myself for over a year because of the eating disorder. I did not want to trigger it---instead I ignored it.

So, onto the next part of my life! I'm down 5 lbs from 166 last week, and I am determined to get back to 110 in a healthy way. I have so many things to look forward to, including graduation, getting married, and moving down to Florida, all in the next year or so.

To all my future readers out there, this is coming from a lazy girl! I am determined to get off my booty and do this right. I just started incorporating exercise into my days---And I'm starting Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred today. I'm so excited, and I hope you all will see that it is possible, even when you don't like moving that much!

Here are my current stats:

Height: 4'11.5" (That .5" matters, damn it!)
Starting Weight: 166
Current Weight: 161 (as of 8/9)
Goal Weight: 110---or until I feel amazing!

It's not always about weight! It's about how you feel about your body, and the life changes you want to make.

My blog will offer many things! Food porn (who doesn't love it!), fitspo, musings, recipes, beauty tips, and some other goodies.
