It's the Little Things

So far today, I've eaten alright. I had McDonald's for breakfast. I had a nasty craving for a sausage McMuffin. Yes, not the healthiest, but I usually go for their oatmeal if I need something on the run anyway. A McMuffin isn't calorically bad---It's everything else.  In addition to that I got a small iced coffee with cream and sugar-free syrup. Tastes just the same! I was pleasantly surprised.

So, while it wasn't the healthiest breakfast, and I ended up peeing every 5 minutes from the coffee, it was still worth it to me to treat myself. As long as you try to make healthier decisions the rest of the day, I see nothing wrong with having something a small indulgence. Don't go crazy though! Moderation is the key, and I do not eat like this every morning. I usually enjoy breakfasts involving eggs, greek yogurt, or high fiber oatmeal. The more lean protein in the morning, the better!

Now, this kept me full for the majority of the day. But I just got hungry! So, with limited food in the house (I can't even call it that since it's a studio that's 10'x11'), I dug around the pantry.

Sometimes simplicity is the best.

Usually I like to be a little more creative, but I didn't feel like fussing, especially after doing dishes yesterday.

Looking at my Spark People Stats, I realized I need to work more protein in my diet. And tuna from a can is the only fish I'll eat! So it was magic. I used about 3/4 of the can of tuna for this sandwich, and Kraft Mayo with Olive Oil. It tastes so wonderful, and it's only 45 cal per tablespoon! And way better for you too. I highly recommend trying it. So overall, this whole meal came to about 200 calories, which compensates for my larger calorie breakfast. Still have a lot to eat for the rest of the day though!
